How To Use Perio Protect Trays

When dealing with gum diseases like gingivitis, periodontitis, gum inflammation, or bacterial infections, your dentist may craft you perio protect trays. These custom-fitted trays are designed to help reduce the bacteria on your gums and heal the issues you are dealing with. This is one of the strongest solutions to healing your gums. Here’s how to use perio protect trays!

In order to understand how to use perio protect trays, you first will need to get them. You can go to your dentist, but on average, they cost $700. You will need to take time out of your busy schedule to get the impressions done, and you may need to be a registered patient with the dentist. It can be a hassle, and an expensive one at that. The bigger the city, the more it will cost you, so if you live in New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles, expect to pay on the higher end.

The good news is that you don’t need to get perio protect trays from your dentist. You can receive them all from the safety and comfort of your home with SportingSmiles. These are the exact same premium ones you’d get at your dentist, but for hundreds of dollars less. SportingSmiles has been crafting retainers, night guards, sports mouth guards, and whitening trays for over one million people since 2009, and now has perio trays! How to use perio protect trays starts by ordering a set from SportingSmiles.

When you order from SportingSmiles you’ll be sent the patented impression kit to take impressions of your teeth before sending them back to SportingSmiles. With your impressions, SportingSmiles will craft custom perio trays for you to use. Here’s how to use perio protect trays once you receive them.

The first step on how to use perio protect trays is to brush your teeth and floss. This will remove any food particles that are on your gums or in between your teeth. You want your gums and teeth as clean as possible for the treatments.

With the perio trays, next you’ll want to load them with the medication gel. You only need a thin line of the gel along the gumline. Don’t overfill the trays. It’s important to note that SportingSmiles does not prescribe the medication or the perio gels. You will need to get a doctor or a dentist to prescribe the gel but once you get it filled, you can use SportingSmiles perio trays.

Once you have the perio gel inside the trays, gently seat the trays over your teeth and press lightly to ensure a snug fit. Wipe away any excess gel that comes out of the trays. You’ll want to wear the perio trays for 10-15 minutes once or twice a day, or if your dentist or doctor has specific instructions, follow those for your treatment schedule.

After the time is up, remove the perio trays and rinse your mouth with water. Clean the perio trays with water and wash away any extra gel to avoid making the trays dirty. It’s fine to just let them air dry afterward. That’s how to use perio protect trays!

If you need a set of your own and want to skip the huge cost of the dentist, SportingSmiles is here to help. You can order a set of perio trays and have them delivered straight to your home without the need to visit the dentist. Keeping your gums healthy goes a long way with oral care!
